Under Freytag’s pyramid, this would be known as the climax part of the plot, the drama that plays a decisive role in your transformation process. It means giving up on things you’ve collected through life that are toxic – any thoughts, habits, relationships that have accompanied you through years and made you miserable.  These things are energetically draining you and sucking the life out of you, and cutting cords with them is a part of the process. You know it has been the right decision when you enter a sense of serenity that brings calmness within.

We usually live in the past and the future, but not the present. We relive moments, we envision future events, but we never concentrate on the Now. Gratefulness is a choice you consciously make to embrace and celebrate life as it is. It is a choice you make to enjoy life, and this is what our children are so good at. It is their innate instinct to be happy in the Now, play, laugh, have fun.. and instead of playing the part of demanding parents, we should stop and listen. There’s so much knowledge we can learn from them. When was the last time you watched your children play?!

We are all guilty of people pleasing in some form or another however what may be surprising is how many of us are pleasing people we don’t even particular like or respect. I have witnessed people bending over backwards to try and convince others that they are worthy of their attention but at the end of the day why do we care? 

I remember there was a stage in my life when I have tried to please aquaintances to gain some mythical approval from people who just weren’t nice or worthy of my attention. Then one day I stopped, I had that ahha moment. I realised I had no desire to waste my time getting approval from someone I would never want to be like. Perhaps we fear being rejected by those who offer the most condemnation to others, those that can declare us to not be ‘normal’. However what we may need to remind ourselves of is that the most successful people are not only unique, they also completely embrace their uniqueness and great things always come into their lives.

The evidence would suggest that our desire to gain approval comes from our need to belong and fit in, even at the consequence of our true selves. Our whole society convinces us that we must fit in or suffer the consequences. We all learn this early on at school due to the suffering one experiences when they are different.

Giving in to the urge to fit in only takes us further away from what I like to refer as our Soul Print’, the basic blue print of what makes us unique and what unique path is ours and ours alone to make our heart sing. By choosing to just fit in, we take ourselves away from who we truly are and our happiness.

Have you ever been in a group where you know you must act a certain way or talk a certain way to be accepted even though you just don’t feel like these people are ‘your people’? Somewhere along the line, you convinced yourself that you need their respect and approval and by doing so you have merged into a new person, someone different to your true you. Maybe someone you don’t even recognise or enjoy anymore.

When I first started my journey in recreating my life, a friend was interested in doing some of the same things I was doing. She told me however that she won’t be able to because she would end up ‘different’ like me. It was kind of weird hearing that however on the flip side it was an eye opener to know that someone would choose to keep themselves small so they didn’t rock the boat and appear ‘ not normal’ to people who weren’t striving for more themselves. Why is it that we don’t embrace being different and use it to our advantage? 

All I know is that by choosing to be me, a little different with unique opinions and ideas, I have attracted lots of new people, conversations and opportunities into my life that are far more enriching than the ‘normal things’ I was attracting when I was worried about what people thought. Life is far more interesting now as I am creating my world around my interests.

Isn’t it time we all started living our lives according to our dreams, desires and interests?

1. What is Desire?

Desire is defined as a strong wish to have something. We all have desires and we launch new ones all the time often after recognising what we don’t want. A desire can range from wanting that wonderful home made chocolate that is available at the Farmers Market or on the other end of the scale, desiring to be a multi millionaire with the ability to own thousands of chocolate stores.

Desires are wonderful to have, they allow us to envision the life we want to lead. However desire by itself doesn’t get you towards your goals. Energetically, it can remain a wish that may or not be fulfilled depending on your beliefs. For instance, it is easy to fulfill your desire to have homemade chocolate as there is no gap between the action and the belief. You know that you can go to the market on the weekend and buy it. It is within your realm of possibility. To be the multimillionaire though, that may be a different story. Our belief systems often tell us that being a multi millionaire is much harder and requires good luck and perseverance, which may well be the case, however most importantly it requires intention.

2. What is Intention

Intention is defined as an aim or plan. Energetically it means you are agreeing to do what it takes to achieve your desire knowing that it is yours to have. Intention is the difference between getting your goal or not.

When you set an intention to eat that homemade chocolate, you know you have to get out of your chair, get dressed, jump in the car and buy it. It is a series of actions required to get what you want, knowing you will have it. The same applies to being a multi millionaire. Sitting back and waiting for it to show up lowers your chances of getting it, if however you intend to be one, you align to your goal and will take the actions required to get it as you know it will happen.

3. Which One Gets Results – Desire or Intention?

Both however intention is the only thing that actively gets you what you want. Desire is the recognition that you want something and Intention gives you the energy to get it. You will struggle to get what you want by only focusing on desire as chances of someone bringing you that homemade chocolate out of the blue are less than if you got it yourself. If you set an intention to get it such as going yourself or asking someone, you will close the gap between wanting and having.

Summary

Recognise your desires and launch as many as possible. As per my other teachings, take time to imagine what it is like to have your desire and how you would feel when you do. This helps you become energetically connected to what you want and determine whether this desire is right for you.

Then set your intention to get it, knowing that you will take the steps needed to have it. This will inspire you to take the right steps towards your goal to ensure you achieve it.

There are many schools of thoughts on this one and a lot of Guru’s will tell you this is the fool proof method to get what you want. If that feels good, then go for it, however it is quite possible that eventually this method will shift your focus to asking why it hasn’t shown up yet. Then you will ultimately keep it from you for longer until you step out of the ‘waiting game’.

There is an easier way and quite possibly the quickest method – once you get clear about what you want and know you will get it, then you need to step back.  Yes you can have it running as a thought in the background and fuel it with thoughts here and there, however you don’t have to say 500 or more affirmations on it everyday or keep revisiting your desire statement every hour of the day. Keep it in your periphery, do things that bring you joy to raise your vibration and it will come. This is how you allow it in to your field.

When people complicate things, it is a sign of ego. Everything that is natural and good in the world is simple and easy.

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” – Melody Beattie

In the Oxford dictionary, the definition of being Grateful is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation and to return kindness. My interpretation of this definition, is that there is an exchange of energy – you are thankful for receiving and as a result you express kindness (and love). When you practice being grateful for all that you already have, you are express a positive energy.

Several years ago I decided to do a Gratitude experiment and express my gratitude as much a possible throughout each day over a month. The results were astounding in terms of raising my vibration. I noticed that focusing on a situation or an object that I was grateful for, released an energy of pure love and I started receiving more things to be grateful for including opportunities, friendships, inspiring conversations and material items. All of sudden, my energy was pulsating higher and higher and I gained momentum towards feeling good and then amazing.

When it comes to the Law of Attraction – we bring to us more of the same of what we are giving out. If we are feeling grateful and excited about what we already have, the Universe will bring us more things to feel grateful about – it is the fundamental law of attraction. I recommend if you want to raise your vibration to attract more of what you desire into your life, than conduct a Gratitude experiment and start enjoying the results.

Here is how to do a Gratitude Experiment:

  1. Write a list of ten things you are grateful for each day in a notebook or journal.  No need to get fancy, just any paper will do.
  2. Each day, add a theme to your gratitude list i.e. health, money, relationships and so on
  3. After a week, start adding your desires to the list as if you already received them i.e. I am grateful I have my coffee machine as I absolutely love making fresh coffee in the morning (try to add feeling when you talk about desires)
  4. Rotate your themes and keep adding new desires as if they have happened throughout the 28 days
  5. All throughout your day, be mindful of what you are grateful for. The longer you remain in a state of gratefulness throughout each day, the more amazing you will feel.
  6. At the end of each week, write a letter to someone telling them of all the wonderful situations, relationships and new opportunities that appeared in your life (those that happened and yet to come).

1. Get Clear About What You Want

The first step in the Law of Attraction is to get really clear about what you want. It is a crucial step to attract your desire easily and effortlessly.

Many people have a rough idea of what they want in life, however they leave the detail open to interpretation. When you don’t clarify exactly what you want, you can get very mixed results. We have all experienced this in our lives.

For instance, if you asked your Real Estate Agent to find your ideal house in the countryside and provided no more details, imagine the wide variety of options your agent would present to you just to see what you like? It is certainly the long way to find what you want. Imagine instead if you narrowed right down to what must be included; quiet road, double garage, 4 bedrooms, modern kitchen, mudroom, within a mile of town, 3 stables and so on.

Most of us would naturally provide our agent with our requirement. Therefore, doesn’t it make sense to tell the Universe or even yourself, exactly what you want when you have a desire? Get clear on the details and ask yourself why you want it. When you can answer the ‘why’, then you will get to know how much you really want it.

2. Raise Your Vibration

The next part of the formula is to raise your vibration so you are in alignment with your new desire. If you want a new house, think about how your would feel when you own it – that is the feeling you need to align with (or generate regularly) to make it happen.

Here are just a few ways to raise your vibration:

  • Visualisation
  • Gratitude
  • Change to more positive thoughts
  • Do things that bring your joy and generate good feelings
  • Surround yourself with positive people

3. Allowing

This is the part where you allow the Universe to deliver your desire. Many people find this the trickiest one to understand. The best way to allow, is to keep your desire in your peripheral vision and always running in the background (with positive expectation). One reason why the background if effective, is because when you keep focused on it every single moment of the day, you can easily start shifting your focus to wondering why it hasn’t come in yet. Once you do this, then you tend to hold it at a distance.  If you generate lots of joyful emotion when you launch a desire, then keeping up your positive expectation is much simpler than it is to focus constantly on the actual desire.
